Her Story
When Charlotte first came to Bohoka Employment Initiative, she carried more than financial struggles — she carried pain, fear, and uncertainty about her future. Like many young women facing difficult life situations, she had little hope, no stable income, and no clear direction for how to rebuild her life
As she continued attending classes, Charlotte learned entrepreneurship, financial discipline, and practical handcraft skills. She discovered a passion for creating beautiful handmade jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, and other accessories. What started as simple classroom practice slowly became a talent and a source of hope.
Her story reflects the mission of Bohoka Employment Initiative: empowering women, restoring dignity, and creating sustainable opportunities through skills and support.
Before joining Bohoka, I spent most of my days sitting at home without purpose or direction.
Life was heavy on my heart. I carried emotional trauma, and many times I found myself constantly depending on others and begging for help just to survive. Deep inside, I felt broken and hopeless.
Everything began to change when I joined Bohoka Employment Initiative. At Bohoka, I found more than just support.
I found healing through counseling, encouragement, and learning God’s Word; my heart slowly found peace and restoration. Bohoka became a place where I could rest, grow, and rediscover my confidence.
One of the greatest opportunities I received was learning the profession of hairdressing. What started as a simple skill became a turning point in my life.
Today, hairdressing has lifted me to another level. I am now able to work, earn an income, and contribute to my family. I can even help provide important needs at home, including paying for health insurance.
My journey has taught me that transformation is possible when someone is given love, guidance, and opportunity.
That is why I encourage my friends and other women not to give up but to take a step forward and join Bohoka. It is a place where people learn valuable skills, heal emotionally, grow spiritually, and discover a brighter future.
Today, I stand with confidence, hope, and purpose, grateful for the new life I have found through Bohoka.
